Overview

Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications or known as PGDCA is a one year course after graduation. Its normal divided into two semesters. This course is to boost your computer based skills. 

The course content includes:
  • Fundamental of Information Technology
  • Programming Languages like C, C++, Visual Basic
  • Operating Systems
  • Java Programming
  • Computer Architecture & Organization
  • System Analysis & Data Processing
  • Digital Electronics
  • Computer Hardware
  • Data Structure and Algorithms

The syllabus may vary from university to university. The purpose of this course is to equips students with skills required for high-end applications in IT. You can do it by distance learning program also.

Further Study:
After completion of PGDCA you can also do M.Sc computer science from distance learning and after completion this you'll direct get admission in second year of M.Sc. It's first 2 semester count as the 2 semester of M.Sc.

Career Options:
After completion of this course one can get job as a computer operator, support lead, Network system analyst, Data Entry worker, Database administrator etc. Nowadays there are many types of jobs available in all kinds of industries and government sector that related to computer knowledge and you can pursue any of them after this diploma course.

To pursue this course you should be graduate with any stream.

The fees of the course depend on the institute. It can be around 10,000 per semester.
